GJSCI announces the election of its Chairman at a meeting held on 15th October, 2024, where the Board of Directors of GJSCI elected Mr. Milan Chokshi to take over this position
Contributions of Shri. Adil Kotwal as Immediate Past Chairman
GJSCI’s immediate past Chairman Shri. Adil Kotwal has contributed significantly towards GJSCI. JOSH being his pet project has grown significantly under his vision. Moving from a restricted space to the sprawling Bharat Ratnam CFC within SEEPZ was due to the efforts of Shri. Adil Kotwal. He has been very involved in the activities at JOSH, and under his leadership a new division for Specially Abled Persons (SAP) came into existence. GJSCI is very grateful to him for his support and guidance over the last two years.
Shri. Milan Chokshi: A Respected Name in the Industry
Shri. Milan Chokshi has been a familiar name in the industry, more popular for his brand Moksh. He is a 4th generation gemmologist and at the helm of affairs at Tanvirkumar & Co., which is his family’s 76-year-old business. He is the director of Bullion Operations at Diamond India Limited, India’s leading nominated agency for gold. He has been an active member of the COA of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council and is also currently the Convener — marketing, promotions, and business development at the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
A Passion for Education and Social Causes
The cause of education is close to his heart, and he is a managing committee member at Each One Teach One, a 30-year-old NGO supporting the holistic needs of over 10,000 students from underprivileged backgrounds. He is also the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai, an institute run by GJEPC.
