Josh Convocation Ceremony 9th Batch of Regular Candidates & 2nd & 3rd Batch of Specially Abled People
The Jewelry Occupational Skilling Hub, or JOSH is the first ever industry funded state-of-the-art training centre based out of `Bharat Ratnam’ CFC SEEPZ, Mumbai. GJSCI facilitates training of candidates as per industry demand and ensure placement and thereby cover the skill gap faced by the industry. JOSH also has a dedicated infrastructure to impart the skill training to the People with Special Abilities.

Honouring 136 Graduates
On 12th February, 2025, a Convocation ceremony was held to honour 136 candidates, graduates of the ninth regular batch, and the second and third batch of students from the Specially Abled Persons (SAP/PwD). The event was graced by the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ, Shri. Dnyaneshwar B. Patil, IAS; Mr. Sriram Natarajan, Managing Director, Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Shri Raghuraj Rajendran, IAS, Secretary (Technical Education), Skill Development and Employment, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, along with GJSCI, Chairman, Shri. Milan Chokshi.
Welcome Speech by Mr. Milan Chokshi
Mr. Milan Chokshi, in his welcome speech, expressed his joy at being present at this prestigious event. He congratulated the students for their hard work towards becoming skilled professionals and for being part of the gems and jewellery industry. Mr. Chokshi also went on to thank the ever-supportive Industry Partners, including the Mega CFC and the office of the Development Commissioner of SEEPZ and GIA, for their support and contributions.

GJSCI felicitated Mr. Milan Chokshi upon taking responsibility as Chairman of GJSCI. Moving on, the candidates were awarded certificates honouring their skills and providing them with recognition for their efforts and hard work.

Chief Guest’s Appreciation for JOSH
The Chief Guest, Shri. Dnyaneshwar B. Patil, IAS, Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ, highly appreciated the efforts made by JOSH towards providing underprivileged and physically disabled candidates with an opportunity and means of livelihood. He congratulated the candidates on their achievements and hard work and wished them the very best for their future.

GIA’s Continued Support for JOSH
Mr. Sriram Natarajan, Managing Director, GIA, also congratulated the graduates. He mentioned that GIA, being an educational institution, finds its support for JOSH well aligned with its objectives. GIA has always supported JOSH in the past and continues to do so.
Employment Opportunities for Graduates
As per the understanding between GJSCI and Jewelex India, all the candidates belonging to the SAP batch were absorbed by Jewelex India Pvt. Ltd., and most of the candidates from the general batch were also absorbed by several other jewellery companies within SEEPZ as apprentices.

Shri. Kiran Padture delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support rendered by the Management of the Office of the Development Commissioner and GIA, which recently contributed generously from their CSR funds for JOSH.

GJSCI plays a crucial role in the functioning of JOSH and invites Industry Partners PAN India to collaborate for the establishment of a JOSH set-up in their own clusters.
