The 57th GST Council has recommended measures to accelerate GST refunds, reduce penalties, simplify registration and return filing, and improve input tax credit reconciliation. The proposed reforms could strengthen cash flow, reduce compliance costs and support India’s gem and jewellery manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, retailers and MSMEs.
