The State Council meeting of the All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association (AKGSMA) with the India Association for Gold Excellence and Standards (IAGES) took place in Kozhikode, marking a significant step toward enhancing professionalism in the Indian gold industry.
CEO Statement
Mr Kaushalendra Sinha, CEO of IAGES, an initiative by the World Gold Council, said that “the aim of the initiative is to elevate the gold trade through transparency, consumer trust, and professionalism. He emphasised that its primary mission is to integrate every small trader into this growing network.“

The meeting was presided over by Mr K Surendran, State President, AKGSMA, with key office bearers, including Adv. S. Abdul Nazar, General Secretary; Mr C.V. Krishnadas, Treasurer; Mr M. Vineeth, Working Secretary; and Ms Betty Thomas, World Gold Council Representative, in attendance.

During the meeting, Mr Kaushalendra Sinha and Ms Betty Thomas met with Mr MP Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar Group and AKGSMA representatives to discuss collaboration and promote the IAGES initiative across Kerala’s gold industry.
