In a proactive move to safeguard consumer interests, the Chennai branch of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently conducted an enlightening awareness program on product certification, management systems certification, and the significance of hallmarking gold, silver jewellery, and artefacts. The event, which also shed light on laboratory services, took place at the prestigious Collectorate in Ranipet

During the day-long program, inaugurated by Ranipet Collector S. Valarmathi, participants gained valuable insights into consumer protection measures. G. Bhavani, the esteemed Director & Head of BIS (Chennai), delivered an engaging session, acquainting government officials from the district with the program’s key objectives, diverse activities, and the latest initiatives undertaken by BIS. The event witnessed the gracious presence of Mr. Dhinesh Rajagopalan, Deputy Director at BIS, further enhancing its significance.
