The Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) organised the convocation ceremony of JOSH for the 6th batch of specially abled candidates and the 12th batch of regular candidates on 16 January 2026 at the Bharat Ratnam Mega Common Facility Centre (CFC), SEEPZ. The ceremony marked the successful completion of training for the candidates, celebrating their hard work, determination, and readiness to step into the gem and jewellery industry.

Jaipur, widely known as the hub of coloured gemstones, hosted the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) 2025, one of the largest and most important jewellery exhibitions in India. The show brings together the entire jewellery ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers, designers, buyers, and consumers, making it a key platform for industry interaction and learning.
Skilling being at the core of our activities, a Special Program was curated by GJSCI to Train the Trainer. It was a 3 day long Training Program which commenced on 31st July upto 2nd August, 2025. Imitation Jewellery Maker & Artificial Jewellery Maker job roles were shortlisted for this program. A total of 12 Trainers participated in this intensive Training Program held in Mumbai. Trainers hailed from the State of Odisha, Thane & Kolhapur districts of Maharashtra.
A series of events unfolded on this day at GJSCI worth sharing. It was GJSCI’s 13th Foundation Day along with Long Service Award distribution, JOSH Convocation Ceremony and Recognition of Centre of Excellence to IIGJ Delhi. On this auspicious occasion a ceremony was organized where the Chief Guest at the event were Shri. Dnyaneshwar B. Patil, IAS, Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ Ms. Ekta Upadhyay. The Jewelry Occupational Skilling Hub, or JOSH is the first ever industry funded state-of-the-art training centre based out of `Bharat Ratnam’ CFC SEEPZ, Mumbai. GJSCI facilitates training of candidates as per industry demand and ensure placement and thereby cover the skill gap faced by the industry. JOSH also has a dedicated infrastructure to impart the skill training to the People with Special Abilities.
