Historic Leadership Election
The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 25th June 2026, an election year that saw a new President take office. For the first time in the Bourse’s history, Charlotte Rose becomes the first woman ever to lead the London Diamond Bourse and is believed to be the first woman to serve as President of any diamond bourse in the world.
Leadership Transition
After two and a half years as President, David Troostwyk passes the baton to Charlotte and takes up the position of Vice President, allowing the two to continue the shared vision for the London Diamond Bourse they have built together. Wolf Rabstein joins the Council as Treasurer, and Paul Koppelman has been re-elected as Executive Officer.
Charlotte Rose on Her Election
Commenting on her election, LDB President Charlotte Rose said, “I am honoured that the Council of Management has entrusted me with the role of President. I am conscious, too, of what this particular election represents. The London Diamond Bourse has been trading since 1940, and I am the first woman to lead it. I would rather that fact was unremarkable, and one day it will be. For now, I take it as a sign that this is an industry capable of change, and that our members are ready for it. I want to thank David Troostwyk, whose leadership has shaped this Bourse and who continues alongside me as Vice President. I am fortunate to inherit so much of his work, and glad to carry it on with him. With the experience around this table, we have a strong team ready to serve our members and the wider UK diamond and jewellery industry.”
David Troostwyk on the Transition
Outgoing President and now Vice President David Troostwyk added, “It has been a privilege to lead the London Diamond Bourse, and I couldn’t think of a more capable, ambitious, young leader to be handing over the Presidency to in Charlotte. She has the vision, hunger and work ethic needed to succeed in modernising and taking The London Diamond Bourse forward. I am pleased to be able to support and continue to work alongside her, and together, with the support of the Council of Management, we will carry on the important work we have begun for our members and the wider industry. Making sure the London Diamond Bourse remains forward thinking, progressive and an example to other Diamond Bourses.”
