LOUIS VUITTON TAKES A BOLD LEAP INTO MEN’S FINE JEWELLERY
15th January 2024
Elevating luxury to new heights, Louis Vuitton has kicked off the year with a daring foray into uncharted territory by introducing a captivating men’s fine jewellery collection.
Named ‘Les Gastons Vuitton,’ the collection holds a dual meaning. ‘Les Garçons,’ French for ‘the boys,’ reflects the essence of masculinity, while paying homage to Gaston-Louis Vuitton (1883-1970), the visionary grandson of the brand’s founder, Louis Vuitton (1821-1892).
This exquisite collection comprises 18 pieces, ranging from €1,900 ($AU3,110) for a trunk stud earring to €145,000 ($AU237,420) for a necklace bedecked with white gold and a dazzling 13 carats of diamonds, featuring the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram on various pieces.
Francesca Amfitheatrof, the artistic director for watches and jewellery at Louis Vuitton, expressed enthusiasm for the emerging market of men’s jewellery. She remarked, “Men used to adorn themselves with jewellery, and we’re witnessing a delightful shift. Men are becoming more adventurous and interested in jewellery.”
This collection seamlessly merges elements from both women’s and men’s fashion, offering a breath of fresh air. The artistic director highlighted the use of titanium in the collection, emphasizing its suitability for the core themes. “Titanium, known for its application in aerospace, possesses the unique quality of being a resilient, dense metal. When laser-cutting the monogram into it, the result is a remarkably crisp and modern feel,” she explained.
Les Gastons Vuitton is available for purchase online and at select Louis Vuitton stores worldwide, inviting individuals to explore and embrace this innovative fusion of luxury and masculinity.
