On the occasion of International Women’s Day, NAC Jewellers hosted the Overseas Women’s Club of Chennai at their flagship store in T. Nagar, Chennai.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, NAC Jewellers hosted the Overseas Women’s Club of Chennai at their flagship store in T.Nagar, Chennai. The event showcased the history of jewellery-making in India, highlighting the different regions from where diverse crafting techniques evolved, and additionally covered the design philosophy of contemporary jewellery in India, which continues to draw inspiration from the past.
The event opened with a welcome address by Ms. Rathi, President of Overseas Women’s Club of Chennai, followed by the presentation on the history of jewellery-making by N. Arjun Varadaraj, Executive Director of NAC Jewellers. The event also offered the members of the Overseas Women’s Club of Chennai an opportunity to discover the fascinating history behind the unique forms of jewellery that developed across the country through skills passed down generations of artisans, keeping the roots alive for both the craftsmen and the consumers. A tour of the store was followed by interactive sessions to experience unique Indian jewellery.
