Dubai Business Group for Gold and Jewelry Designers Announces Partnership with Ebdaa for the Inaugural International Jewelry Design Competition

Introducing the Ebdaa International Jewelry Design Award 2024

Presented by the Dubai Business Group for Gold and Jewelry Designers, the Ebdaa International Jewelry Design Award 2024 is a curated, exclusive event where innovation meets elegance. This year’s edition is the 12th annual competition, and for the first time, it is open to international participation. Founded by the acclaimed artist and jewellery designer Azza Al Qubaisi, Ebdaa has established itself as a prestigious platform for recognizing and nurturing exceptional talent.

Competition Categories

The Ebdaa International Jewelry Design Award 2024 invites participants to submit their entries in the following categories:

1. Message to the World: Create a jewellery piece that conveys a powerful message or statement you wish to share with the world.
2. Echoes of Nature: Design a piece inspired by the natural beauty and elements of Earth, such as the sky, butterflies, rivers, emotions, or nature itself.
3. Heritage and Legacy: Reflect on your cultural heritage and environment through a piece that captures the essence of your personal or communal legacy.
4. Alexandrite Elegance: Highlight the distinctive colour-changing properties of Alexandrite, creatively showcasing its unique characteristics and story.
5. Design the Trophy of the Year 2024: Exclusively for UAE residents and Emirati designers, this category challenges participants to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship by designing a trophy that will stand the test of time.

Submission Deadline

All entries must be submitted by 28th September 2024. Participants are encouraged to carefully review the competition guidelines and submit their most innovative designs before the deadline.

Recognition for Excellence: Twelve finalists will be awarded the title of ‘Excellence in Jewelry Design 2024’. One finalist will be honoured with the ‘Trophy of the Year’ award.

All-Expenses-Paid Trip to Dubai: All finalists will have their travel and accommodation expenses covered to attend the awards ceremony in Dubai on 14th November 2024.

1. Azza Al Qubaisi: A renowned Emirati jewellery artist, designer, and sculptor, Azza’s work has been showcased in art fairs and exhibitions worldwide, and she has received numerous awards for her innovative designs.
2. Maha Al Sibai: Blending rich cultural influences from Damascus and Rome, Maha’s work uniquely combines historical elegance with modern innovation. As Chairman of the Dubai Business Group for Gold & Jewelry Designers, she continues to drive innovation in jewellery design.
3. Tawhid Abdulla: CEO of Jawhara Jewellery Group and Chairman of the Dubai Gold and Jewelry Group, Tawhid is a visionary leader whose innovative approach has set new benchmarks in the UAE jewellery sector.
4. Ashish Vijay: Dubai-based investor, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and businessman with decades of experience in the precious gemstone and luxury jewellery industry.
5. Laksh Pahuja: An innovative jewellery designer known for his unconventional designs, Laksh has won numerous global awards, including “Designer of the Year,” and his creations have adorned many international stars.
6. Paola De Luca: A creative director and forecaster with an extensive background in jewellery and watches design. Paola’s contributions include launching The Jewellery TrendBook and co-founding TRENDVISION JEWELLERY + FORECASTING.
7. Sheikha Alserkal: An award-winning jewellery designer and multidisciplinary artist, Sheikha Alserkal’s brand, Alserkal Jewellery, is dedicated to featuring collections that commemorate UAE’s history, traditions, and nature.

Event Details

The Ebdaa International Jewelry Design Award 2024 will culminate in a grand ceremony at the JGTD Exhibition, Expo City, Dubai, UAE, on 14th November 2024. The event will be a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation, bringing together the brightest talents in the jewellery industry from around the world.
