The India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which abolishes customs duty on imports of gems and jewellery in Oman from India, is expected to significantly boost India’s exports to Oman and strengthen direct trade linkages between the two countries, according to the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

The visit marks the first time in many years that an Indian Commerce Minister has travelled to Israel, signalling a renewed momentum in bilateral cooperation across sectors—particularly gems and jewellery, a cornerstone of India–Israel economic relations.

The India-UK CEOs Forum convened in Mumbai on 8-9 October brought together business leaders from both nations to explore the opportunities unlocked by the new India-UK Comprehensive Economic & Trade Agreement (CETA). Among the distinguished participants was Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, who represented India’s gem and jewellery sector at the high-powered meeting.

The India Gem & Jewellery Show (GJS2025) – Diwali Edition concluded today at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, after four spectacular days of celebration, innovation, and industry collaboration. Organised by the All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), the show witnessed an overwhelming response from across the country, with over 10,000 visitors, 2,000+ hosted buyers, and more than 700 booths showcasing the finest in Indian jewellery craftsmanship. Following its grand inauguration by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji, the event continued to build momentum with a series of impactful activities and engagements that reflected the vibrancy and resilience of the gem and jewellery sector.

The Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX 2025), the first-ever dedicated B2B gems and jewellery exhibition in the Kingdom, was inaugurated today at the iconic Jeddah Superdome. Organized by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) with the support of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, the Embassy of India in Riyadh, and the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, the Ministry of Investment, Saudi Arabia, the exposition marks a new chapter in bilateral trade and cultural exchange between India and Saudi Arabia. The show is being held from 11th to 13th September 2025.
